A revised version of the Mercedes GLE looks to be on the way, with prototypes of the SUV spotted.
This alternative to the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 looks set for some light visual tweaks and a few new tricks under the skin.
2022 Mercedes GLE facelift design
Camouflage on this Mercedes GLE prototype is pretty light, so you can see light changes have been made to the bumpers.
The front grille looks to have been turned on its head, while the air intakes have bucked a literal growing trend and are now seemingly smaller than the outgoing car’s.
Little has changed for the rear, although light camouflage suggests the taillights could be getting revised — much like the headlights.
2022 Mercedes GLE facelift interior and infotainment
No shots yet on the new Mercedes GLE’s interior, but expect it to get some subtle upgrades over the current car’s cabin.
Most likely is a new portrait-set infotainment system as seen in the latest C-Class, which runs the latest version of Mercedes’ MBUX system. This includes the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant, which has been improved lately to understand different voices in a car to allow for certain functions like individual seat heater adjustment.
2022 Mercedes GLE engines and hybrids
It’s likely the range of engines in the facelifted Mercedes GLE won’t change greatly, though it’s probable that mild-hybrid technology will be introduced on all of them.

It’s likely that the facelifted Mercedes GLE will go on sale sometime in 2022, with a full reveal before the end of this year possible.
Expect pricing to be pretty similar to the outgoing car, possibly around the £60,000 mark.
