You’re looking at an upgraded version of the MG ZS EV that goes on sale in November 2021.

2022 MG ZS EV price and release date

The new MG ZS EV goes on sale in November 2021. It costs from £28,495 (inclusive of the government’s £2,500 Plug-in Car Grant) and rises to £31,495 for a top-of-the-range model.

2022 MG ZS EV design

Though the basic silhouette and design cues of the existing MG ZS EV are retained, this updated model sports a fresher look.

Gone is the faux-grille upfront with a single-piece front bumper now featuring, along with sharper LED headlights. The rear bumper sees some tweaks too, while a new set of alloy wheels rounds out the visual changes.

2022 MG ZS EV batteries and motors

The big news for the new MG ZS EV is a new ‘long-range’ version, which will be your sole option at launch. This houses a 72kWh battery pack which MG claims will offer 273 miles of range in between charges. That’s quite the improvement over the outgoing car’s 163-mile range.

This will support 76kW DC rapid charging too, allowing the battery to be topped-up from flat to 80% in 42 minutes. Next year, a 51kWh 198-mile version of the ZS EV will go on sale, too.

The new ZS EV still sports a single motor driving the front wheels. It produces 153hp – slightly more than the 141hp you got in the old car.

2022 MG ZS EV interior and infotainment

Though the interior of the new MG ZS EV looks largely the same as before, there’s been one major change…

That’s the new infotainment system, with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and completely new software. This is said to offer better graphics and improved functionality, plus it’ll be able to ping car information (such as charge level and security functions) directly to your phone.

The base model SE is generously equipped, with keyless entry, dual-zone climate control and a reversing camera as standard. As you move up the range you can add things such as a panoramic glass roof, heated leather seats and wireless charging for your phone.
