2023 Skoda Scala facelift spotted: price, specs and release date

Prototypes of the facelifted Skoda Scala have been spotted testing, with sleeker styling and upgraded engines. Keep reading for all you need to know about this updated family hatchback.

Prototypes of the facelifted Skoda Scala have been spotted testing, with an updated version of the hatchback set to arrive in late 2022.
This alternative to the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus is expected to get some minor visual tweaks, along with more efficient engines.
2023 Skoda Scala facelift design
The current Scala has a smart and sophisticated look to it, and the facelift looks to build on this.
The main updates seem to be at the front and rear, with the camouflage suggesting redesigned bumpers. It looks like there is a new, sleeker headlight design as well.
There seem to be no changes worth noting down the side of the car, however, it’s a safe bet that some new alloy wheel designs will be offered.
2023 Skoda Scala facelift interior and infotainment
The current car already has a well built, generously equipped and user-friendly cabin, so you shouldn’t expect huge changes in this department.
It’s predicted that the updated version will get the latest infotainment system found on other models in the Skoda range, starting with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and going up to 10 inches. It’s thought that a new digital drivers display could be included as well.
2023 Skoda Scala facelift engines
No announcement has been made on engine options for the updated Skoda Scala, though you can expect to see a similar mixture to the current car’s range of 1.0- and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines. These are expected to come with some tweaks to lower emissions, though.
It’s safe to say that the gearbox options will also go unchanged, with the current options being a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic.
2023 Skoda Scala facelift price and release date
Keep an eye out for the official reveal of the updated Skoda Scala in the first half of next year, with it hitting the showrooms towards the end of 2022.
While prices are yet to be announced, it’s likely to see a small price bump. Currently, the Scala starts from £17,585, rising to £26,265 for a range-topper.
