Citroen Berlingo and Citroen Spacetourer: MPVs now electric only

January 13, 2022 by

Citroen has announced that the Berlingo and Spacetourer MPVs will be electric-only models from January 2022. Read on for all you need to know.

Citroen Berlingo

Petrol and diesel models of the Citroen Berlingo MPV have been removed from sale in the UK, leaving only the electric e-Berlingo. This doesn’t affect the Berlingo Van however.

The e-Berlingo has a 50kWh battery pack which can be charged from 0-80% in 30 minutes with a rapid charger. Citroen claims it has 174 miles of range.

Buyers still get the same versatility that the Berlingo has always offered, with flexible seating and practical sliding doors. It will also still be available in M and XL wheelbases, depending on how much room you need.

Citroen Spacetourer

The larger Citroen Spacetourer has also gone electric-only, and is offered with similar EV tech to the Berlingo. As with the Berlingo, the Dispatch van on which it’s based will still be available with conventional engines.

Like the Berlingo, the Spacetourer has a 50kWh battery pack and it can be charged up to 80% in half an hour at a fast charger. It has 143 miles of range, so slightly less than the Berlingo but this is to be expected in a heavier vehicle.

The Spacetourer is available as either a five, seven, eight or nine-seat model. The seats can easily be moved however to suit your needs and increase luggage space.
