The SEAT Ateca’s interior feels solidly put together and has easy-to-use controls, but it doesn’t feel as expensive as alternatives
Style
While there’s nothing particularly special about the way the Ateca’s interior looks, you can derive some pleasure from how well laid out it is. Everything works exactly as you would expect it to, and although you don’t get as many fancy trims and soft-touch plastics as you would in some rival SUVs, the interior does feel solidly built.
Entry-level SE models offer you the best value for money in the range. They get a modern-looking 8.25-inch touchscreen, dual zone climate control, wireless phone charging, USB C functionality, keyless go and AEB – in other words, everything you need.
The SE Technology trim brings a 9.2-inch screen, sat-nav and 18-inch alloy wheels, while FR models get a digital dash, auto lights and wipers and unique alloys. FR Sport has heated front sports seats and a 10.25-inch digital dash.
The new Xperience trim level sits near the top of the range, and gets a reversing camera, suede upholstery and 18-inch alloy wheels. The top-spec Xperience Lux adds leather seats, a power tailgate, a 360-degree camera and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Infotainment
You get an 8.25-inch touchscreen as standard on every car and this comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus Bluetooth for wireless music streaming and hands-free calls. It doesn’t come with integrated satellite navigation as standard, but it doesn’t need to – you can mirror your smartphone’s navigation app on the screen via your phone.
Whatever you’re doing on the screen it’s easy to use: It has an easy-to-follow menu structure and is responsive to inputs.
From SE Technology upwards you get a 9.2-inch screen, which looks even better and has sat-nav, but it’s not really necessary. The 10.25-inch digital dials on high-spec models is similar: it looks good but doesn’t quite seem worth moving to a top-spec car to get.
