Hyundai i20 N interior

A few sporty looking bits and pieces help liven the cabin up, but not by much.

Style

You get a couple of nice sporting touches in the i20 N’s cabin to help give it a bit more of a performance edge over the standard car, but the changes aren’t too dramatic.

The most noticeable features are the special N-badged gear lever, as well as a few flashes of vivid bright blue on the door trims and steering wheel-mounted drive mode selectors. Chunky sports seats and metal pedals give the i20 N a bit more of a sporting edge, too.

But elsewhere it’s i20 as usual, which means you’ll find some hard, scratchier plastics in the lower reaches of the cabin, as well as some slightly more appealing soft-touch plastics on the dash-top. It’s a pleasant enough place to spend time given the car’s modest price, but nothing more.

Infotainment

The i20 N comes as standard with a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is mounted in pride of place on the dashtop. The graphics are clear and easy to read, and the operating system is easy enough to figure out, even if the menu for the customisable drive modes can take a bit of time to wrap your head around.

You get satellite-navigation, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity as standard, along with a handy wireless charge pad for your compatible smartphone device. Speaking of smartphones, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included right out of the box, and although the Hyundai system works well enough, chances are you’ll just use these instead.

You get a couple of touch-sensitive shortcut bottoms along the base of the screen, which make the process of jumping from one menu to the next a bit easier than it otherwise would be, but actual buttons would be better still. Annoyingly, Hyundai hasn’t included a physical shortcut button for the home menu either.
