Although you can get a colourful green trim, most of the cabin options are a bit plain and dull, and can feel a bit dark.
Style
Volkswagen has never been the pinnacle of style. More function than form. With the Taigo it’s much the same, as you get a simple layout with buttons and dials used on the entry level option.
As you move up the trim levels, you get larger screens that fit into a smooth panel across the top part of the dashboard. You also get the touch-sensitive slide controls for the climate control, which is one of VW’s worst missteps in recent years. You can’t really judge what temperature you’re setting and that means you’ll be distracted fumbling for the right temperature.
If you fancy it, you can choose the ‘Ceramique-Visual Green’ trim option, which adds a vibrant green feel throughout the cabin. That’s paired with a cream trim around the seats, centre console and roof lining.

Infotainment
As standard, you get a 6.5-inch touchscreen alongside an eight-inch digital instrument display. Both of these are clear and simple enough to use, but they can be a little laggy when you flick between menus.
Move up the trims and you get an eight-inch infotainment system alongside the full fat 10.25-inch instrument screen. Again, both are easy to use and thankfully don’t use Volkswagen’s latest infotainment software, which is notoriously tricky to use on the go and can be a bit buggy at times
But with USB-C sockets in the centre console, it’s easy to connect your phone through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, and use those instead.
