The Honda e is a bit like Piccadilly Circus inside – boring it isn’t. You can even plug in your console and play videogames.
Style
Most cars have a screen these days, but the Honda e has gone windmilling into Dixons on Black Friday and come back with the whole shop. There’s a screen for everything in there, and while it’s a bit 90s in overall design, you can’t accuse it of being boring. No sir.
The front seats are wide and flat, and the car’s centre console is covered in a wood effect trim. That trim continues on a horizontal shelf across the dash at the base of the many screens.
Otherwise, things are dark and drab and functional rather than fun, but knowing Honda’s record for reliability, you can bet your bottom dollar its switches and vents will feel like new in 20 years time.
You feel a bit like Tom Cruise in Minority Report sat behind the wheel of a Honda e, but at least you won’t be bored.

Infotainment
Two large 12-inch screens in the centre of the Honda e’s dashboard deal with the car’s infotainment. It’s Honda’s Connect system, so sat-nav comes as standard, as well as DAB radio, Bluetooth and, most importantly, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Internet browsing is also possible.
However, if you get bored of all that, you can plug your games console in and play games on the Honda e’s screens – as long as your stationary, of course.
You also get four USB sockets, two in the front, two in the back, as well as a six-speaker sound system.
