Beautiful to look at with a superb driving position, but the infotainment is a long way from cutting edge.
Style
Purposeful. That would be one way to describe it inside a Cayman. Focused would be another. It’s a fabulous place that allows you to get on with simply enjoying driving the thing.
The materials all feels beautifully put together (even if there is the odd bit of wonky stitching).
Better still, while there’s a touchscreen, there are also plenty of buttons and dials to control the things you use every day, such as the ventilation.
Front and centre ahead of the driver sits a conventional analogue rev-counter, with speedometer dial alongside. The dial to the right of the rev-counter is a digital display that can show your audio functions, trip computer or sat-nav directions. Overall, the mix of old and new works brilliantly.
However, it’s a nonsense that Porsche charges extra for even the most basic cruise control system, parking sensors and LED lights.

Infotainment
There’s a touchscreen, but it isn’t what you’d call cutting edge.
The graphics look a bit old school, and neither is it the most responsive of systems, although you do get DAB digital radio as standard.
iPhone users will be pleased to hear that the Apple CarPlay system is catered for, which makes the infotainment set-up a whole lot more useable, and which is what most people will use most of the time.
However, Android users aren’t so lucky; the system doesn’t accept Android phones as yet. Booo.
