Glamorous and sexy it isn’t, but quality is good inside the Suzuki Swace and we’ve no complaints with ease-of-use
Style
If you climb into the Suzuki expecting a bold style statement you’d be sorely disappointed. However, you shouldn’t really expect it to do so given the exterior.
Although the look of the dashboard itself isn’t overly flamboyant or cool, the simplicity of the layout means that most features are pretty easy to find and operate. It’s a shame there isn’t more interesting interior colours to choose from than black with a side of black and a slither of silver.
Still, cabin quality feels substantially better than Suzukis of old. There’s soft touch material everywhere, most things feel classy to the touch and it looks and feels more expensive inside than a Ford Focus. Only the leather on the steering wheel and gearknob feels a bit cheaper than you might expect.
You might not find the positioning of the infotainment screen all that well-integrated, though. It’s been mounted as high as possible in the dash to help reduce how far you have to take your eyes off the road to look at it, but the downside is it’s not that easy to reach, nor is it very attractive to look at with its chunky plastic surround.

Infotainment
The Suzuki Swace uses an 8.0in infotainment screen – now considered a fairly modest size by modern standards – but unlike a number of car firms Suzuki offers proper physical shortcut buttons either side of the screen to reduce the amount of screen prodding with your eyes off the road required. We’re happy to see proper physical climate control switches, too.
The screen itself is largely fine, but not the most cutting-edge system we’ve encountered. The resolution isn’t amazing, while the menus can be a bit confusing and the graphics themselves look a touch dated. At least Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are thrown in as standard on every model, meaning you can bypass much of the system and just use the apps on your phone.
There’s no fancy full-sized digital dials in the Swace. Just some brightly lit analogue items, but that’s fine as they’re super easy to read, while the main info is easily accessed on a small screen in the centre of the instruments.
