New Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range revealed: prices, specs and release date

A new version of the Kia e-Niro has been introduced, bring a longer-range battery pack to its budget-friendly ‘2’ version. With a price of £34,945, the SUV is eligible for the recently-revised £2,500 plug-in grant and is now on sale.

The ‘2’ Long Range uses a 64kWh battery pack and has a range of 282 miles

This new Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range uses the same 64kWh battery and 150kW motor as higher-spec versions of the electric SUV, though only this new, cheaper model is eligible for the Government’s revised £2,500 plug-in car grant because it costs from less than £35,000.

The Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range has 282 miles of range — a decent rise over the previous 39kWh-powered version’s 180-mile range.

New Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range equipment and infotainment

The e-Niro ‘2’ slips under the government plug-in grant threshold with its £34,495 price tag

As standard, you’ll get an 8-inch infotainment system in the Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range, with wireless support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a reversing camera with parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and keyless entry.

New Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range charging service

All versions of the e-Niro are eligible for KiaCharge — a service that gives you access to various charging providers under one account

Along with the rest of the e-Niro range, the ‘2’ Long Range is eligible for Kia’s new KiaCharge service. This allows a single account to be used for several major charging networks — including Pod Point and Ionity — meaning you don’t need to have a million membership cards floating around in your glovebox for various charging points.

Priced at £34,945, the Kia e-Niro ‘2’ Long Range is eligible for the recently-revised government plug-in car grant. This sees electric cars costing £35,000 or below receive a £2,500 discount. As a result, you can pick up this new Kia e-Niro for as little as £32,495.

It’s on sale now, with first deliveries set to begin in July this year.
