  • Parts shared with upcoming Renault 5

  • May go on sale in 2024

A Nissan Micra replacement has been teased, and it’s going to be a pure electric car. It will be sold alongside the current Nissan Leaf and Nissan Ariya as the brand’s entry-level EV.

This alternative to the Peugeot e-208 and Mini Electric will share parts with the upcoming Renault 5 EV when it goes on sale in 2024.

New Nissan Micra design

Just one teaser image has been revealed of the new Nissan Micra so far, and it’s not especially revealing.

It appears as though the new car will have some quirky round headlights and a curvy, bubble-like shape not dissimilar to the second generation Micra.

New Nissan Micra batteries and range

The new Nissan Micra will share parts with the upcoming Renault 5 EV. This means it could have up to 250 miles of range, around 10 miles more than the current Renault Zoe.

The Micra may also be offered with two motor options if the Renault 5 is anything to go by, with power ranging between 110hp and 130hp.

New Nissan Micra price and release date

While no official release date has been announced, it’s likely that the new Nissan Micra will go on sale in 2024 along with the new Renault 5.

As for pricing, it’s likely to be in-line with the Renault 5 and below the Nissan Leaf. Somewhere around £20,000 after the government’s Plug-in Car Grant would be reasonable.
