Skoda Octavia Sportline exterior

The new Octavia model gets the signature black exterior elements you’ll spot on other Sportline models. Look closely and you’ll spot a new front spoiler, grille frame and rear diffuser with a distinctive gloss black finish.

Hatchback models have an additional rear spoiler that you don’t get on non-Sportline cars. They also come with 17-inch alloy wheels with optional 18-inch alloys or Sportline exclusive 19-inch items. All three options come finished in either a polished or metallic black look.

The new Skoda Octavia Sportline’s cabin has been upgraded, too. New dark Piano black trim strips run along the length of the dashboard and the more supportive sports seat get integrated headrests covered in what Skoda calls ‘especially breathable’ ThermoFlux upholstery. Unlike the standard Octavia’s two-spoke steering wheel, the Sportline gets a three-spoke item and Sportline badging.

Skoda Octavia Sportline engines and driving

The standard Skoda Octavia is offered with a broad range of petrol, diesel and hybrid engines ranging from a 115hp 2.0-litre diesel to a 204hp plug-in hybrid. The new Sportline is also offered with a 190hp 2.0-litre petrol engine that isn’t available on lower-spec models.

Front-wheel-drive and a six-speed manual gearbox are standard on less powerful models but all-wheel-drive and a seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox can be paired with the top engine offerings.

As with some other Octavia models, such as the faster vRS model shown above, you can get the Sportline version with adaptive suspension (that Skoda calls Dynamic Chassis Control) to let you choose between a variety of driving modes.

Skoda Octavia Sportline price and release date

Prices have yet to be confirmed, but the Skoda Octavia Sportline should fit in just above the SE L trims while undercutting the range-topping vRS models. That means you’ll need to hand over slightly more than £27,000 for a base model topping out at over £35,000 for a well-specced plug-in hybrid car. It’s expected to be on sale soon.
