Nissan has released details of a new flagship Qashqai called the Black Edition SV. This high-spec SUV is based on the existing Tekna trim but comes with a number of styling and equipment upgrades as standard. Read on for full details…

New 19-inch alloy wheels and eye-catching metallic black paintwork with a pearlescent finish should help this new model stand out from the crowd. Also fitted as standard are a panoramic glass roof – usually a £400 optional extra on Tekna models – revised front and rear bumpers and Black Edition badges on the door sills.

The interior boasts full black leather upholstery, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sat-nav and Nissan’s excellent 360-degree camera system that allows you to see the car from a bird’s eye view. A range of safety systems, including lane departure warning, emergency city braking, blind spot monitoring and object detection, are also fitted as standard to the Black Edition SV.

This new limited edition Qashqai comes in two-wheel drive guise only and with our recommended 1.5-litre diesel engine, capable of returning 70.6mpg. At £27,310, it might cost £450 more than the Tekna on which it’s based, but it comes with £1,200 worth of extra equipment as standard so represents good value for money.
