A new trim for the Range Rover Evoque has been introduced, bringing more kit to this BMW X3 and Volvo XC40 alternative. The P300 HST comes equipped with a 300hp engine as well as extra standard equipment, and costs from £50,440.

The P300 HST gets a lot of black detailing

The Range Rover Evoque P300 HST get a black trim pack as standard, bringing with it a black-painted roof, vents, door mirror caps and badging.

You’ve got a choice of 11 exterior colours, while 20-inch black alloy wheels and red brake callipers come as standard.

The P300 HST also comes with upgraded LED headlights with scrolling indicators.

What does Mat make of the Evoque?

Said to be inspired by the Rover Rover Sport HST, the Evoque P300 HST gets the same steering wheel and interior headlining as that car — both trimmed in suede-effect cloth, imaginatively called ‘suedecloth.

Two 10-inch screens come fitted in the centre console as standard, with one controlling the infotainment features and the other for adjusting the driving modes and climate-control settings.

There’s a new set of leather seats too, along with branded sill plates and a panoramic roof. You also get a 13-speaker Meridian sound system as standard.

A 300hp 2.0-litre petrol engine powers the HST

Powering the Ranger Rover Evoque P300 HST is a 2.0-litre petrol engine linked up to a mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency. It produces 300hp and sends its grunt to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It’ll crack 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds as a result.

The P300 HST also comes equipped with a Terrain Response 2 system that allows you to instantly switch between preset driving modes for trips on- and off-road.
