Entry-level Suzuki Celerio SZ2 trim will cost £6,999

Want a new car for less than £7,000? The Suzuki Celerio can now join your shopping list, thanks to the new SZ2 trim level
This is the new Suzuki Celerio SZ2 model. It’s a new entry-level version that costs just £6,999 and makes Suzuki’s successful new city car one of the cheapest cars on sale.
Pay a deposit of £1,816 and it’ll cost £79 per month over 42 months on Suzuki’s PCP finance scheme – most couples probably spend more on takeaways each month.
The equipment list has been pared back to the bare essentials, but you still get six airbags, central locking, DAB digital radio, electronic stability control and a CD player. You also get the Celerio’s impressively roomy 254-litre boot – it’s three litres bigger than the Volkswagen Up‘s boot, and the £8,800 entry-level Up doesn’t come with central locking as standard.
Why is it so cheap?
The SZ2 sits underneath the SZ3 in the Celerio range, and the SZ3 costs £1,000 more than the SZ2. So what will SZ2 customers be missing out on?
You’ll have to do with just two seats in the back, there’s no remote central locking so you’ll have to use the key to shut the car and there are no LED daytime running lights and no hill-hold control to help with hill starts.
The SZ2 also does away with alloy wheels, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, USB connections for mobile devices and MP3 compatibility.
That said, if you just need a low-cost runaround but don’t want to buy a used car then the Celerio SZ2 could be right up your street.
