2. Kia e-Niro

With the Kia e-Niro covered by a seven-year, transferable warranty, every example on sale now will still be covered. They haven’t lost much value so you won’t see huge savings over buying new, but you shouldn’t lose much to depreciation either.

If you can forgo a bit of practicality in favour of something that’s perfect as an urban runaround, the Smart EQ Fortwo is a great choice on the used market. A low range means you’ll need to keep journeys short, but this is a car for squeezing into tight parking spaces and whizzing around town in.

Despite only going on sale in 2018, there’s a good selection of used Audi e-trons to pick from on the used market and with low miles too. Range certainly isn’t the most impressive for its pricepoint new, but used examples come with massive discounts that make it easy to forgive.

The Jaguar I-Pace has been on sale for a while now, but it’s no less head-turning than when it first came onto the market. Used examples are easy to find too, and at a major discount compared with new examples. Owners report a drop in charge to about 80% by 50,000 miles, but an eight-year battery warranty should keep your mind at ease.
