Polestar 2 Standard Range batteries and performance

This new version of the Polestar 2 uses a 68kWh battery

Serving as the entry-point to the electric hatchback’s lineup, the Polestar 2 Standard Range uses a 64kWh battery rather than the 78kWh unit in more expensive models. It’s linked up to a single motor, with a power output of 224hp.

This new entry-level version of the Polestar 2 does have a shorter range than more expensive versions, but its 261-miles range is still very respectable.

The Standard Range car has 261 miles of range

If that’s not enough for you, a Long Range version with 320 miles of range is also available. This car uses a 78kWh battery and a 231hp motor.

Polestar 2 Standard Range equipment

All versions of the Polestar 2 get an 11-inch infotainment system and 12.3-inch digital driver’s display

Though it uses a smaller battery than the rest of the line-up, the Polestar 2 Standard Range still comes with a pretty generous amount of equipment.

As standard, you get 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lights front and back plus all-round parking sensors. There’s an 11-inch infotainment system too, along with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display rather than analogue dials and gauges.

If you fancy a little more equipment, there’s a choice of optional upgrade packs, too. The Plus pack brings a 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, electrically adjustable front seats and a heating function for the steering wheel and front and rear seats.

There’s also the Pilot pack that adds upgraded LED headlights, adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving features and some extra safety kit, including blind-spot monitoring and rear collision warning. This will set you back £3,000.

Polestar 2 Standard Range price and release date

Pricing for the Polestar 2 Standard Range kicks off at £39,900 and it is now available to order. Polestar has confirmed the new car will be available to test-drive in September, so you can expect the first UK deliveries in summer 2021.
